Tony Gonzalez
Forney Jackrabbits Color Analyst

Tony, or “Gonzo”, as most folks around Forney call him, has been a rabid sports fan from the first days he can remember.  With a body and skills that ran their full athletic course by the time he enrolled in North Mesquite High School, he has looked for various ways to stay involved in sports.  While attending Baylor University, where he graduated in 1994 with a MIS degree, Gonzo served as a statistician/spotter broadcasting the football games of the Marlin Bulldogs for his first actual broadcasting experience.

As father to Jacob, Jarod and Caroline, Gonzo has taken full advantage of the opportunities to coach his sons in football, baseball, soccer and basketball over the years.  He served as the PA voice for Forney Pee-Wee Jackrabbit football in 2006 and will be doing the same in 2007.  That same year, he was grateful for the opportunity to coach both his sons on the same Jackrabbit team that went undefeated and captured the Tri-county Super Bowl title.  As hopeful future FHS Jackrabbits, the Gonzo kids are very excited about listening to Dad on the airwaves this fall.  None of this would have been possible without the amazing support of his wonderful wife of 13+ years, Gayla.  The Gonzalez family moved to Forney in 2005 and have been very involved in the local community from the first day and are very much looking forward to increasing their involvement through this partnership with FHS Athletics and SISN.
